Yea, this is the other thing that has made me hesitant to make the switch to the P938. I've only carried Glocks except for the Kahr CM9 that I picked up a few months ago. I would need to do a LOT of dry drawing and range practice to get that muscle memory in place.
I won't lie to you. It's a commitment. I'll also tell you that as cool as they are the 1911 platform in my opinion is not a great fighting pistol. Do some close quarters handgun fighting drills and you'll realize very quickly that striker fired pistols have a huge advantage in that area. Having to manipulate thumb safeties, be sure you've got the grip safety compressed and being aware of a 2-3 lb trigger pull with 1 hand when trying to struggle with someone in close quarters is really an eye opener.
Having said that I will also say that if I had to take a shot at distance and it had to be dead on with no room for a miss I'd take a 1911 every time.
