The Hi Point Thread

They make good firearms to customize, this one has never failed and I fired it out of the box without oiling or cleaning it. The cleaning procedure is swabbing in and out the barrel

They say it isn’t over till

I have one, bought it as broken, cheap.
Really just looking for the mags.
Just for grins I contacted HP. Sent it back and returned in one week. All new internals and an extra mag, sent three mags in and they got new springs.
Cost me $20 postage for a dealer to send in for me. Great CS.

Have you shot it yet?

Never ever had a hi point give a bit of problems...knock em if you want but their very reliable...I can't say that for the ga. gun

My dad used to do CCW training in NM. He came up with the idea of teaming up with a local pawn/gun store and each new gun they sold came with a certificate for a free class.

It was a miserable failure as 90% of the people who used the certificate had bought a hipoint.

The class required 200 rounds to be fired at the range. Never once did a hipoint complete the class without a failure.

Eventually my dad had to ban hipoint by name from use in the class because they ate up so much time on the range clearing stoppages.

I know there are lots of people who swear by them, but from what I’ve seen I would rather my loved ones carry pepper spray than one of their pistols.

I did have one of the carbines about 20 years ago that was pretty fun. Especially since it would occasionally run away and empty the mag full auto even after letting go of the trigger.

I tried to make mine ftf and fte by rapid firing and running 5 different types of ammo through it. Ran like a sewing machine while guys beside me were disassembling their high end ones for fte and ftf. It is my truck gun so if it falls out on the way to the lake and gets ran over I just send it back for anew one. It is the fat ugly girl in my harem but shoots like a champ. Not ashamed of it.

I picked up a used one a few years back as a gag range gun. It saw many rounds without much cleaning, it eventually jammed up when some hollow points chewed the feed ramp up. Took it apart and figured out that a prior owner had done some internal mods and it was pretty much shot out. Rather than mess with it, I sold it off cheap with full disclosure that it would need a trip home. The new owner sent it in and they fixed it even though it was pretty much worn out and someone had messed with the ramp.
