Perhaps the rating was a quite way of ya'll telling the world what you think of the thread but no naming any names or IDs as to who is doing the rating. After it gets it's 5 or so the yellow stars show up, but again no link to whom is doing the rating. Perhaps that is the way the Mods wanted it to run when activated recently.

This wasn't a "mods" thing; the rating system has always been there, just not actively used until recently.
