I have been a supporter for a while, member for longer. Met some great people. I got to witness the "kindness of strangers" when 21sf asked me what I thought about the folks of ODT donating ammo to give a friend and his son a great memory. I was skeptical to say the least....I was pleasantly surprised. I still think about the kindness shown, and the "good" in the people of the ODT.
Don't want the ammo. Give it to someone else. God bless the ODT.
And cool things always happen....like the time Xxx wanted to build an AR but funds were tight. So many different people sent him the parts to build one.....Then some others sent ammo and accessories.....Then someone else helped assemble it. Wouldnt have been possible wihout the ODT site bringing everyone together
I starting looking at this site last summer. I finally joined right before Christmas & made a couple great trades within a little over a month. My new found hobbie is this place & my guns. The wife hates it b/c I'm always on my phone looking. I've learned a lot in a short couple months just browsing this site. Great people here!! Now I just need to find a cheaper hunting club to join. I'm open to private messages lol. Thanks to all.
Well, from the time you(OS) invited me from the old site its been nothing but a plus for me. I've made lots of friends and a handful of close friends whom I could trust my life with. I've personally never had a bad experience here (maybe a few people who aggravate me). I did find out that when the world closes in on me there's always someone who pipes up and puts a smile on my face. I do blame the site for a lot of my sleepless nights, cause I can't find the perfect deal when I'm on a mission.
I think you should offer a choice of a fishing trip at allatoona or carters instead of the ammo (even though my kids could use the boolits)
I met one of the best men around doing a transaction on ODT. It started off with me selling him some 9mm brass. I though it was going to be just another transaction but in has turned out to be a very good friendship. I would have never meet him if it was not for this site. Now we meet up at all the Georgia GSSF matches. I live in Covington and he lives in Carrollton. Thanks to Jim I now enjoy shooting in the GSSF matches.
Through the ODT, I have had the good fortune to meet some great people and find a few firearms that I would have NEVER found at gun shows. About a year ago, someone posted that they were dissolving an estate of some firearms. When I arrived at the residence, a dealer had just finished loading the entire contents of the estate into his pick up truck. Day late, dollar short. Story of my life. I only had $250 cash with me and was looking for an old .22 bolt action rifle or a good .22 hand gun. As I was about to leave, I asked if there may have been any .22 stuff that he may have overlooked. (I'm a .22 fanatic). He said that there may be an old pistol that he didn't want to sell because it wasn't too pretty. Well he came out with an old 50s HI-Standard. Long story short, $250 was the accepted price, and it is by far, the most accurate hand gun that I own. Not pretty but crazy accurate and a super sweet trigger. Thank you ODT!
Even though I complain about crap every now and then I will never say the ODT sucks. This is a great site and I have made some friends since joining and bought some bad ass guns. Hope to meet more of you as time goes on. Long live the ODT
