Had an ol 62 I think back in 82, sold it and bought our wedding bands with the money. Man I wish I still had it.......lol.....just joking, still have the same wife almost 40 years now

My wife , in 1996 on our first anniversary, bought me a 74 Bronco.

I like how they look but they seemed like they had bottom of the barrel steel wise, can't find really any that are not rusted to the point of no return for older ones

No offense to anyone owning one of these, but based on my experience in an auto shop, friends and family owners, the best way to own a VW/Audi/BMW, is to lease it. I tell my kids who wanted a 3 series to fit in with all of their friends at school, that they will spend just about a car payments worth every 1-3 months to maintain an older out of warranty VW/Audi/BMW, unless they know how to fix it themselves.

I had a subscription to 4wheel and Off Road magazine throughout my teen years. Back then, the Scout was the Hi Point 9mm of the off road world. No one really questioned their capability, but very few wanted to own one due to styling/looks. Funny how time flips things. For me - I didn't want a Scout when they were $2500, and they haven't grown on me over time.
