Cursed be the nimrod dimwit who thought it would be a good idea to
bring kudzu to the South and use it as a shade plant! :mad: :frusty: :tsk: :crazy: :rant:
This stuff is driving me crazy.

Thought it was brought here more for erosion control? Heard someone say once that they thought cows might eat it too. Whatever the reason it was a dumb one in hindsight.
I think it was all of those now that I search the source of all knowledge (Wikipedia).
The vine was widely marketed in the Southeast as an ornamental plant to be used to shade porches, and in the first half of the 20th century, kudzu was distributed as a high-protein content cattle fodder and as a cover plant to prevent soil erosion.
