I need help.I can't see open sights well ( they appear blurry.) and I don't shoot farther than 50-100 yards out.Scopes for me are too bulkey and I don't have a rest to properly set it up with so I need a suggestion on a red dot or a reflex sight or whatever might work.I had a 100 dollar red dot on my 22 mp but the dots appeared sharded, not round, had to see.I'm. Nearsighted so up close looking around is ok but blurry at a distance.Any suggestions that won't break the bank also would be Greatly appreciated,Thank You.

Thank you
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/400562/vortex-optics-spitfire-ar-prism-sight-1x-drt-reticle-matte ; It's your astigmatism. This sight(also avail. in 3x), has an etched reticle, that doesn't 'starburst'. I'll try to find somewhere that has the reviews on this sight, referring to this problem, and how this sight doesn't do this. This is the newer, 2nd gen. model., that uses AAA batt.'s. Also, the reticle is visible, even when off, or in case of battery failure.
Thanks

I'm in the same boat and have been dealing with it for years. I've tried all kinds of things, including several different red dots. None of them work for the reason you state. The only thing that does work is a scope, because you can change the focus. You'll just have to suck it up and go with low powered scopes on your long guns. I prefer an illuminated reticle and this has proven to be a very good and reasonably priced option. I have these on several weapons now and they have never let me down.

As for handguns, I have progressive lenses and have had to change my stance to be able to look out the part of the lens that focuses on the front sight. It's a bit of a PITA, but it works.
