Things your Grandfather taught you!

My Grandfather was truly wise. Two of the many things he taught me were...
1) When you were born you cried and the world rejoiced. Live in a manner so that when you die the world cries and you rejoice.

Wish our politicians would live by this one.

2) As a rule a man's a fool. When it's hot he wants it cool. When it's cool he wants it hot. Always wanting what is not.

And once I learned this one I quit complaining about the weather... particularly if he was in earshot. Ha!

They helped shape me to who I am today.
Values, respect for others, how to work with my hands, how to work with tools.
Some of the many things they taught me as a young boy.

Also went with him to play Bingo many times...great memories

Never knew either one of my grandfathers but they must have been something else. After my mom passed, I found some letters from her youngest brother who was in boot camp at Parris Island in 1965. He said boot camp was almost as hard as working the farm for my grandfather.
