Middle Georgia has several Dragstrips, and land and houses are cheap.
But it’s stupid humid, and temps are outrageous. Travel through there four times a week. Usually hotter and more humid there than in Nokomis Fl at the same time.

IMO, Valdosta was a ****hole when I worked throughout Middle and South GA in the Mid-90's.
I can't imagine it has gotten any better.

As a heavy equipment road mechanic at the time, I lived in hotels 5 nights a week and would go out of my way to NOT stay in Valdosta, Albany, Macon, Savannah, or Brunswick and this was almost 30 years ago.

As a whole, rural middle and south GA is nice (sans the god-fer-saking heat and gnats) but its the small towns and low populations that make it nice.
Again, just my opinion.

If it were me I’d look closer towards the GA/SC line off a highway at least 20 miles… large body of water.. and Dollar Generals…

Not for me down there I would prefer to move to Tennessee not in any of the big city's like Nashville or crap hole Memphis I like Chattanooga to mount Eagle like east tenn too Huntsville AL ain't bad either I have worked all over the south east for the past 25 yrs Tennessee is the place you want to be

To me valdosta is like dekalb county of the south .
