This started life a a 700 CDL 7/08. It is now a 6 pound mountain rifle contour lightweight! Just over 7 scoped! Your 260 can be lightened!

Probably cheaper to just get a new barrel: this one is super fat. .862” at the muzzle.

Rebarreling ist too expensive. Trimming down the bolt makes a difference though. Tikka lightweights get rave reviews, but they are hideous looking to me. Besides the 260is kind of hard to find.

I have a 700 LH in 257 Roberts that began as a 30-06. Problem is, I shot RH rifles so long as a left I never could adjust to a LH rifle.
