Ok so long story short my wife and I were planning a trip to New York to visit my family and introduce them to our new baby when he is born. If this is accurate I refuse to go there. I haven't had any reason to research gun laws in New York until now obviously because I WAS planning a trip there.....http://www.nraila.org/gun-laws/state-laws/new-york.aspx...... according to this if I go to New York then I am SOL when it comes to carrying my weapon even though I have a permit because New York doesn't acknowledge permits from the state of GA. I don't understand why half of the US acknowledges their permits but they acknowledge NO other states permits. WHY IS THIS??? Does anyone know any more about this and if there is a way to get around this? I don't want to go there with my wife, newborn, and three year old of I have no right to carry protection. People in that city are CRAZY!!!

Many states require training classes. Some states reciprocate with states that require training, but do not for states that do not...

So what if you are from there and you have a permit and you go out of state to buy a gun from an individual? Would they allow you to bring it back if you are a permit having resident? Will another state sell you a gun if you are from another state?
