This is what saving $600+ looks like

I’d be in the poor house if it was my wife’s choice. She wants to replace any appliance that doesn’t match her expectations at the moment.

Her The clothes dryer doesn’t work!
Me. Is the filter clean? Is the filter so full that the heating element shorted…….again?

Her. The dishwasher isn’t cleaning the dishes.
Me. Did you remove the food from the dishes? It’s not a garbage disposal………
Does she read the manual that comes with the appliance? :drum::behindsofa:

Here's incentive to not be lazy.

Plumber quoted me almost $800 to replace my motor for the jetted tub. I need some other things done that I legitimately can't do, so I said throw this job in the estimate.

$800...eff that. Ordered a motor online for $170 and changed it out in an hour. Not much room to maneuver around in there but I got it done. Plumbers wanted to cut an access hole in the bedroom sheet rock also.

Always look on YOU TUBE always someone their show how fix about anything. It’s may go site for some repairs or chores needed done.

Can't wait for the "my jetted tub leaked everywhere and flooded my house" post 🙃
I wasn't going to say anything but somewhere around the 784th time of going outside to cut the water off at the main, I came back inside and forgot to relieve the pressure off the cartridge before removing it, so the cartridge I think I was able to keep in my hand while the spring and cup seal went flying, I found the spring and almost lost the seal down the drain, all while deflecting 60+psi of water that was spraying the ceiling....so now the stream of water is hitting me and the walls...

Repairmen will tell you that those are the most common causes of problems with those appliances.

Stay away from the plastic junk that the big box retailers sell. My Kohler kitchen faucet weighs 5 lbs, the same faucet from Home Depot/Lowes weighs a pound as it’s been reengineered with plastic. There isn’t a solidly made faucet anywhere to be found at those locations.
out of curiosity, where would one go for the better stuff? Plumbing supply house? They sale retail? thanks.
