Little Buster has passed. He was bitten by a snake in the wooded part of my back yard yesterday. Despite the best efforts of the vet and being able to come home yesterday afternoon, he passed today after me being up with him until early this morning.
A little backstory:
My mom adopted him in 2015 when he was pretty much grown but very young, so we never knew his exact age. My mom took care of him until her Dementia got too bad in 2019. He always had a liking for me, so I took him at that point.
He was a Chihuahua mix and whatever the extra part was, he lacked the common "Cujo" Chihuahua aggressiveness and was one of the sweetest, most friendly dogs you would ever meet and loved to just snuggle.
Sorry if TLDR, I owe this to him and my Mamma. He was one of the last things I had of her. I will miss my little bed buddy.
I'm burying him by his buddy Jack.
Good, sweet boy. RIP.

With all the great dogs that I have owned of the typical cool breeds, a pure bred chihuahua that got dumped on me turned out to be one of my absolute favorites. She was my little pocket puppy and went a lot of places with me the bigger dogs couldn't go. She had just a touch of the "Cujo thing", but was sweet 99% of the time.Little Buster has passed.
