Mom was close by and he just sat still while I squatted down right next to him to pick the tomatoes. I love watching them. They are all over the property.

They do get some but we give them plenty
I am seeing more and more at the farm, neighbor says same. Habitat and food , nice to see them.
My favorite time of day was the afternoon when I lived in Chicago. I'd cut up apples and toss them to the little beggars in the back yard. Had one that would come up on the deck and actually beg like a dog on its hind legs.
I had one show up at my office one day. Damn this was about the size of a golf ball. I took her home and she lived in my house for several years. She stayed pretty wild but loved to taunt my yellow lab when he was napping. Run under his nose and then skeedaddle as he tried to jump up and chase her.
She was pretty much litter box trained too, but had to sweep up a few nuggets on occasion. No big deal.
I had 3 little ones at the corner of backyard few years ago. They moved on about 2 weeks later.
