This why you should always monitor your kids computer use..

But you definitely need to teach him to stay away from email.

Until he is hold enough to spot a fake email, he should stay away from it altogether. Any link in any email is potentially dangerous as well.

it's there I can see it... maybe you should run a scan on your computer..lmao

anyway found 656 malicious nastys and Trojans plus adware etc etc etc

Anything which pops up and says there are all sorts of things on your machine which need removing-so just click here and download a "fix" is definitely a virus or a scam.

If you are running windows, go to the search bar. Type "mrt" and run it on thorough scan. Probably will find something. If you are infected, just do a full wipe and reinstall from a known good source (like the recovery disc which most computers come with.) If there is malware, trojans or viruses you really can't get rid of them with malware bytes or any of that other stuff. Just start all over. And run ALL updates before surfing the net.

I have dealt with microsoft crap since '88. I have had enough. I kept thinking they would eventually get a handle on things, but their OSs get worse and worse. If I can possibly afford it, my next compters will be macs. I have just had it with continuous and worsening security disasters from those clowns in Seattle.

he also has about 200 short cuts on is computer when you start up, thinking of wiping everything ..

I have to add we have preached to him about being careful online, he is 18 but special needs and has an IQ below 80 and mental capacity of a a 12 or 13 yo he tests in the autistic spectrum and has a few other issues, like most teens you can't tell him anything...He spends 8 to 12 hours a day online just getting him to leave his room is a major fight..
I am his step dad and he will not listen to me..The biggest mistake us and most parents make is putting a tv and computer in their childs room..

That is a special situation.

Do you think he would be happy with an Ipad? I bet he would. Those things are awesome! There is literally nothing you can do to one which will mess it up. He could still surf and do pretty much all the internet stuff he likes-and he absolutely can't mess up anything with spywars, trojans, or viruses.

There are even special apps for people with autism-specrtum disorders to help them out of they have trouble with reading or learning the traditional way.

IMHO, an Ipad might really solve a lot of your issues.
