This why you should always monitor your kids computer use..

he has two ipads his dad just bought him the newest version..that is the way his sorry excues for a father makes up for being a jackazz he buys him electronics... the boy never unplugs if he is not in his room on the computer he his on his ipad..

we are trying to get him into the "warm springs vocational rehab center" now that he is out of school, I am not sure if they allow electronics down there other then maybe a phone, even if they do he won't be taking them..

Yep-

That sounds like some real challenges. Kids today are always on computers and video games. When I was growing up, you couldn't keep me in a house for anything. We all played in the woods all day long. Had a great time. Today's society is different. That's for sure.

For my son's computer I use a light weight version of Linux that boots from the flash drive.

It works just like the windows he is use to only with less chance of viruses.

As an added bonus since it boots from the flash drive and runs only in the PC's memory, all it takes is a quick reboot to get rid of anything malicious.

Maybe worth looking into

I have been dealing with him for 10 years now...

And like you I also grew up outside using my imagination to entertain myself.. my son Hunter now 20 is the same way, he does get on the computer often but he knows how to unplug, he hunts loves to shoot and he spends many nights doing astro photography..

Puppy linux would be good too. It is very simple and can be booted from a memory stick. I don't think he could mess anything up-and it is really just a download.

Or Ubuntu can be installed as a stand alone program with the option to boot from it or Windows :D

My little brother spent some time at Warm Springs. Like any place it has it good aspects and bad. I was pretty impressed with some changes I saw in him when he came home. Listening to him give his thank you speech at the graduation ceremony was a memory I cherish. He's a wrestling video junky!
