This will be controversial but: Do you know...?

Oh hell yeah, a lot of people that are former military. I've never met a cook, a mechanic, anything other than "operators". Who knew there were so many retired sf guys around

How about this: I worked behind an IT helpdesk and never discharged my weapon anywhere other than a range.

my grandmother, dementia had turned her memories into swiss cheese but she still believes what she says
it sucks but shes old so i withstand it

and obama, don't know him personally but i see him far to much on tv, he actually believes deep down that his ideas are right and everyone else is stupid i think

dementia and being a politician are quite similar but there's no pill to help stop the politician from lying

I have a neighbor, his father actually.....says when he was in the marines he was told to take the enemy's weapon because it fired both their ammo and ours...
He told me, while he was intoxicated that he was a practicing buddist.....
He was a chopper pilot, as well as an officer with the big red one...

Anyways, one day i called him on it while he was drinking....he spent the next hour drunkingly asking his sons where they put his old flight suit.... Yepper............ an american hero...right here in north georgia....

How about that.. a Marine Corps pilot attached to an Army unit. There's something you don't see everyday.

Something about vets.
I was working in a Navy hospital in 79. A Marine Sgt was always telling war stories (Tet probably) and all the guys would crowd around his bed. I was working on an old guy across the ward that had been found unresponsive on a bench in Balboa Park. His name card said he was a Corporal. He said,"if he talks about it, he wasn't there." Awhile later, a bunch of officers came in and took him to a private room. Turned out he was awarded the CMH in WWII. I have invariably found what he said to be true. Combat vets sense of brotherhood doesn't necessarily extend to those who haven't seen the elephant themselves.

I had a brother inlaw (now ex) who had done it all. I do not care what you have done or seen he has you beat. He was in the Navy. Told me he fired a 50 cal from the flight deck. I asked him how he held it up and depressed the butterfly trigger at the same time, give the weight of the weapon? We had then on the 155 and it would rock the gun,32 tons mind you. He was more full of sh it than a Christmas Goose, I don't think that guy ever spoke the truth in his life. Sad really. His kids 2 girls and one boy turned out pretty good, thanks to the man my sister married. My nephew Tommy still has a difficult time, I can see his Daddy's gene pool peaking through now and then. I really do pitty some of these people, they can't help it.

Don't care for folks like that, when they lie about their military service it makes me want to slap them!

Usually give them a few min to recite what they heard in a movie, shake ur head and say awesome. I think karma has taken a vacation
