This year's gun bill...

I'm still trying to decipher it. I don't know if to be pleased or pissed?

OK. It was known that Stone was going to gut HB875 in his committee. And that happened, and there was no vote.

Now before the hearing on HB875, the house stuck HB875(minus the campus decriminalization) into HB60(A bill that has already been through committees in both houses) and it was voted on, passed and was sent to the senate. So now it's up to the senate to take it up and vote on it.

Masterful, really as now the senate can't gut it in committee.

Contact your senator, the Lt Gov. and Deal.

What happened?

Since the senate keeps blocking house approved pro gun bills, the house prepared themselves today and found a way to get the bill to the senate without the corrupt committee that it had been going to. Essentially our gun bill was added on to another bill that has already passed both houses. To my understanding, a new committee will be appointed in the senate to decide whether or not to send the bill to the senate floor. It does look like campus carry will have to wait. For now.

I think it is obvious at this point that Deal is not supportive of HB875 and likely not HB60, I don't know if he has the nuts to veto it, but Stone was doing this for a judgeship appointed by Deal.

So, we waiting in Senate to bring it up for a vote now?

From my understanding the senate can accept it and vote on it or they can reject it and it would go to conference committee. (I believe three house members and three senators are selected for the committee and they have to hash it out.)
