I think it's a good solution for someone who has no ability beyond assembling wood, but the difficulty of doing it out of cinder block reinforced with rebar and cement is not hard. Certainly within average DIY'r reach. Right now, cinder block, cement and rebar has not been as heavily impacted by market prices as wood.
