THREAD FOR POSTING PICTURES OF FISH CAUGHT

Same thing early Sat and Sunday PM. Got 5 in 45 minutes Saturday and then it shut off like a light at 10AM. We checked the action Sunday at lunchtime and saw it looked good. Finished the chore list and fished from 4 to dark. 31 more. 2 above 5lbs. Just nuts. Spoiled us bad.

Shad still hanging out. Got 21 from 930 to noon Saturday. Then the bass moved on. My son lost the biggest one of the day on a monster jump. He was in that weird sad/anger/frustration mode for the rest of the day.

Looks like little man is on his way to being angler of the year before long. Nice catch!
He is pretty into it. We are going for 10 species for GA Youth Angler Awards in 2023. Trying to figure out potentially doing GA Bass Slam with him in 2024. Even today, walking to school, we saw cormorants and herons all in one corner of the lake. He asked to skip school, because birds means shad and shad means bass.

Well not that you guys need any advise, and everyone has their favorite bait but I do declare I catch a lot of bass on the KVD 1.5 square bill "natural shad" color. I run the Sav, Ogeechee and Altamaha rivers when not in the salt so you may want to give it a try. But looks like he could tell me a trick or two lol. Hope he takes the the trophy! Best wishes JT

Sounds like a good one. We have stuck with live bait pretty much so far. His casting is fine, it's his awareness of others that concerns me with treble hooks! Especially in the kayak.

We are close to the hooch at Medlock/Jones Bridge, which are no bait fish. That's the next step. Spots, shoalies and our first trout will be the goal.

Went to our spot today with the casting net and the shad had moved on. Of course we tossed artificial from the dock area and got exactly zero bites. We knew it would end soon, didn't expect it thaaaat quickly.
