Threaded 22 Rifle Needed

The savage fvsr and a Dobbs ARC 22 can is the quietest i'ver ever owned. Even with standard loads.....

When A/C speaks, you should listen.

I too have the FVSR but with a Dobbs Evercore.

With Colibri ammo, all you hear is the firing pin...

Haven't shot it wet yet - I've heard it's an all new experience "under water".

Savage makes a good rimfire rifle, BUT the Ruger American rimfire looks good on paper.
I really like the slim stock, and the rotary 10-round magazine (takes all the same aftermarket 10/22 mags, too).
Ruger makes the American rimfire with a threaded barrel these days.

I'll second that. Just recently got the compact threaded version and it is definitely a quiet, accurate shooter.

That said, I also have a Savage in a Boyds stock. It is also quiet and accurate as well, but after putting it in the Boyds the Ruger is a better deal right out of the box.

Love them both

The Savage is meh. I have an FVSR with the Accutrigger and all that, but I don't find it to be too impressive. I got rid of a CZ452 a couple years ago that was lights out - wish I still had it. The Ruger American Rimfire is a great option. Stock trigger is not as good as the Accutrigger, and it doesn't have the tacticool barrel flutes, but it shoots better than the FVSR AND uses 10/22 mags. Kept reading all of the hype on here about the FVSR, so I sold the RAR and picked up the FVSR. Again, another poor decision on my part.

In short, save up the couple hundred extra bucks and pick up a CZ 452 or 455. They are lights out and can be had for less than $500.
