Because it is ok. The federal government shouldn't regulate what people can or can't work for through a mutually agreed upon contract. The crime is that they say it's not ok for everyone else.Yes you are. The owner of the restaurant. You're paying the waitress what the owner should be paying but the federal government has said it is OK not to.
I've tipped waitresses at decent restaurants $50-100 before for less than a hours work. It's actually pretty common.
Don't think any restaurant owner is going to pay 50-100/hour.
I pay the restaurant owner for the food. I pay the server for making my day more enjoyable.
I don't want to be served by some minimum wage making employee, I don't want to be anywhere close to minimum wage making employees.
