5 months ago I was involved in an accident while riding to work. A van hit me and his bumper basically took my lower right leg off. When I sat up I saw the Bo es and muscle scattered across the road. Half of my knee cap was never found.
Once at Grady they took three days to clean and sterilize the bones and wound. I recieved multiple screws and rods to put me leg back together. They removed my left lat muscle and place it in the wound. My right thumb was so severely dislocated it required surgery and a cast. There was always the possibility o would have to have it amputated. Luckily everything has taken and believe it or not I am up walking again after 5 months. All of this happened at speeds under 15 mph. The peol that hit me had the lowest possible valve Teague and owned nothing. Basically between the lawyer and my job I will get zero. I will get $50k In uncovered medical bills though.
Please be careful out there. Pictures are from day one till now. You are seeing correct. They left the broken bone in there. Said I did t need it and it might reattach on it own. Looks doubtful to me. I’m working with only one of the three veins in my leg. It was the one vein and skin that basically kept my leg on

I went down on the road in 77. Still walk with a limp from that. Finally gave up road riding in 06. To many idiots on the road these days that don’t pay attention. It’s still in my blood to ride but I just can’t do ir anymore. Selling my last Harley was hard and I still look at ones for sale. But people suck and it’s all about them. Hope you heal up buddy.
