It was actually Walnut underneath which was amazing. That is as far as I'm taking the Finish

I have a set of wood from what I suspect was an 870 youth model. I say that because the stock seems short. I got it along with a Mossberg set from a member in Macon a while back. I don't see me owning an 870 any time soon. So I need to send this set on to you. I mean since you obviously need stuff to do.

I heard that! My number one downfall with refinishing stocks or guns is I get impatient and try to put it all back together too soon. So I wind up boogering it all up and having to start over.
