During the morning rush, getting two kids ready for school and the wife and I trying to get ready for work, the dogs were in the back yard and one decided it was time to chase a deer in the front. My wife saw him shoot across the front yard after a doe and yelled for me to try and catch him.
I jump in the truck to go grab the knucklehead and about the time I get to the stop sign by the house I see him get hit by a car. He got knocked for a 360 and when I got to him his bell was rung pretty hard. Scooped him up and gave him a quick once over then drove him up to our local vet.
Tough little guy has to be sore for sure, had a tire mark on his collar and side. Vet says he has a concussion with bruised ribs and lung. Guess part of the bonus is going to a 6’ fence around the back yard in February.
Right now he’s just dazed and confused on pain meds and don’t want to leave my chair…
Lucky dog to be still breathing.
