I have a 2003 Toyota Camry that had an accident prior to my ownership where the airbag deployed. The title is not a salvage or rebuilt title which tells me the cost to repair was less than the cost of replacing the air bag(s).

My question is, how do I verify the airbag(s) were replaced without ripping the interior apart or risk setting off the steering wheel airbag? I don't have any prior history of who had the accident or any other information. Carfax only shows it was involved in an accident where the airbag deployed from a frontend collision.

gunanddoglover is correct. When you start the car, the SRS (airbag) light should turn on and then turn off after roughly 5-7 seconds. If this occurs, the system is operating correctly.

As long as there isn’t super glue on the dash and wheel, it was probably handled by insurance. Henceforth the incident report to Carfax.
