Up for auction is a Ruger SR-556E (model 05912) that I picked up years ago (2009-ish) when they first came out.
I purchased it for use as a 'precision' AR that would also make a good suppressor host. It does well in the second role, being a piston gun, but unfortunately Ruger only used a 1:9 twist on the older gun's barrel so it really doesn't do as well as later versions when you use heavier projectiles.
That being said, I never had a problem with it stabilizing 'normal' 223/5.56 so this may be a difference that makes no difference. I've probably got about 500 round through it total.
As you can see in the pictures I got rid of the stock M4 butt stock and handgrip. The new butt stock is a Magpul unit (I tossed the old one so that's not included) and the new grip is a Hogue. I also installed a very nice Velocity trigger with a 4.5 lb. release and anti-walk pins. The factory trigger and grip are included as spare parts.
Since I don't have the factory P-Mag that came with it I'm including a 40-round P-Mag that is BNIW. I don't have the manual, but the rifle comes with the soft-case and box it had from the factory.
I'm also including 7 boxes (50 rounds/box) of Freedom Munitions remanufactured M855-equivilent brass cased ammo. That's 350 rounds total. Probably 2012-2014 vintage although I can't say for sure. It shoots fine as plinking ammo though.
Because of scheduling reasons I will need the winner to pick this up near me. I usually use the Adventure Outdoors parking lot since most people know where it is and nobody will be concerned with people looking over guns in it. I might be able to drive farther on a weekend day, but I would plan on driving to Smyrna if you bid on this.
