These courses will all be held at a private range location approximately 10 miles south of Watkinsville, GA. There are no range fees other than what has been listed in the product descriptions. Pricing is simple: Sparrow Defense One day classes are $150.00. We also offer private lessons by appointment. Guest instructors set their own pricing based on their expenses, equipment needs, etc.

January 21st: Defensive Pistol I
This one day course focuses on the use of a pistol as a defensive tool deployed from concealment. Prior to attending Defensive Handgun 1, students should be able to demonstrate safe handling and use of a firearm. Students should already possess their own handgun and a holster. Students should expect to shoot up to 500 rounds in this course.
February 4th-5th: Talon Defense / Ditch Medicine: Combat Casualty Care
To register for this class, you must contact Hugh Coffee at HLMED555@yahoo.com. This is an open enrollment pistol / tactical medicine course. Cost is $400.00 per student. This is an advanced skill level class. To see a video of the content, click here.

March 3rd: Sheriff of Baghdad Diagnostic Rifle
Video diagnostic rifle class taught by John "Shrek" McPhee. Class size is limited to 6 people.

March 4th-5th: Sheriff of Baghdad Vehicle Tactics
Video diagnostic course focusing on shooting in, around, and through a vehicle. Class size is limited.

March 19th: Defensive Pistol II
This is a one day course that will focus on shooting techniques and problem solving when the student is ambushed or taken by surprise at close range. This course blends the use of a pistol with edged weapons, strikes / combative techniques, and other defensive tools. Techniques for maintaining control of and employing a firearm during a struggle will be taught. Ultimately, students will develop their own defensive plan based on their everyday carry and equipment loadout.

April 30th: Tactical Rifle I
This is an 8 hour block of hands-on instruction conducted entirely at the range. This course was designed to give students the knowledge and skills required to effectively carry, maintain, and deploy a rifle for defense. The course content will include but is not limited to Parts and Operation of the rifle, Care and Maintenance of the rifle, Sights, Optics, and Accessory discussion, Zeroing the rifle, Diagnosing and clearing malfunctions, Shooting exercises from 7 - 100 Yards, Improvised shooting positions, use of cover, and shooting on the move, Transitioning to a secondary weapon system

May 27th: Tactical Rifle II
Tactical Rifle 2 will focus on using the rifle as a primary tool for combat. Attention will also be paid to the pistol as secondary weapon in the event that the student must fight their way to a rifle or transition due to a weapon malfunction. Shooting exercises will occur between 3 to 100 yards. Movement from cover positions, rapid engagement of targets, threat / non-threat discrimination, and equipment setup will all be areas of instruction. Students should expect a moderate amount of physical activity.

June 10th-11th: Talon Defense - Abbreviated Counter-Ambush / Vehicle Defense
Two day vehicle defense course using pistol only. Open Enrollment with prior training. $350.00 per student. 600 rounds of pistol ammunition. This two day course of instruction is designed to get the student familiar with fighting around and within the confines of a vehicle. The main point of the course will cover the intricate details of drawing and presenting the handgun from the small, tight quarters of a vehicle interior and neutralizing threats both inside and outside the vehicle. Student will witness a ballistics demonstration that will highlight strong points and weak points on vehicles. Drills will then force the student to utilize those strong points during multiple targets and problem solving drills. This is NOT a basic course and the student should be very familiar with safety and weapons manipulations. The course is moderately physical and the student should be in good physical condition.
This VIDEO was taken during the last daytime "Gunfighter" and is similar in content, but also has the rifle work included. Again, this course will be pistol only.
