Travel out west must see destinations.

two weeks
I'm sure that I am late to the party and someone ahead of me has already said this but, wow whee...two weeks? To get to the Grand Canyon and back? That would be a break neck pace, unless you can drive a lot longer than I can. This past Summer we went to South Dakota and back and it took us three and half. I'd suggest more time or closer destinations.

Guess it depends how many stops he wants to make and for how long. 1,000 miles in a day is ain't too bad. 4-days of driving to Grand Canyon, 10-days of relaxing. I always like to get back home though and have a full day off before I even have to think of going back to work.

I can't do anything close to 1,000 miles a day. Good for you! After about 6 hours of driving a 34' rig towing a 2 ton vehicle behind it, I'm about done and ready to get into a pool.

I've driven it a few times too. That's what I remembered. I did just look it up, it agrees with you. I was about brain dead by the time I made it to the other side

Grand Canyon is something you have to see in person to appreciate.
Painted desert is like being on another planet it is very surreal and interesting.
Hover damn is a big damn if that interest you. It’s impressive engineering.
Meteor crater is a big dent in the ground. Pretty cool.
Petrified forest was cool.
Big Texan steakhouse.
Historic Route 66 in some scenic parts is a great drive.
The Rockies are beautiful and Utah is as well. There are so many things between here and the west coast but I’ve got see the listed above and would love to do it again. Everyone should drive cross country.
Except St. Louis. That place sucks.
Kansas sucks to drive through. A lot of the mid west is boring. Good to pass through that at night.

South Dakota/Blackhills is nice, wife and I spent a week there about 15 years ago. Stay away from Sturgis during Bike Week time.

New Mexico has great food, green chile stuff all over, some of which will LIGHT YOUR ASS RIGHT UP.

Washington and Oregon are leftist hell-holes, my sister-in-law lives there, she is about 4 clicks more liberal than Rosey O'Donnell, so are all her friends.

He might like seeing wheat fields as far as the eye can see........

Unless you're going to take a few trips, you might want to take a few months if this is a one time thing. That's what my In Laws did in a motor home. Travel trailer works too. It's all expensive anymore to travel
