I also want to say you’re able to shoot from your boat as long as it’s not under main power. I read that somewhere years ago however it may be OBE and I would advise to get in touch with your local Dnr agency to ensure that you’re in a good to do it.

You must check the dates of the wma. Some are different and not all open at the same time. You must sign in. You can do it at the check station or online. I believe you only have to sign in once for small game. I may be wrong on that one. You can hunt from a boat if it is not under power

When you read each one's regs that you are thinking about you will see each is dang near its on little world.Different dates,sign in, check in etc. Have not seen anywhere(yet) that you cannot beach and start hunting,that's a fun way.Good luck.
Yep I've seen scratch paper filled out custom before.Sign in sheets ,when supplied,
don't appear to have anything 'official' about them.
