I just ordered one and even with being charged tax....with free shipping and a 10% off promo (for Labor Day I guess) I PAID $279.27 SHIPPED to my front door!

Smoking deal even it it is a Type 1 RMR! I am going to mount it on a rifle so Type 1 is A-OK with me! I will even hold my nose and use the crappy UTG mount until I can find a deal on a Larue mount!

I remember reading about a flickering problem on handguns, is this what you're referring to? Anything I need to be on the lookout for with battery housing? Any info on type 1 would be much appreciated

You shouldn't have a problem.
They now include a thin metal base to ensure there is no wiggle room for the battery.
It fits underneath the sight and on top of the slide/mount.
