Trim Guinea pig nails

Hey y’all

We volunteered to care for my daughter’s class pets over the thanksgiving break. They’re two sweet Guinea pigs.

They have really long toenails and I think they need attention.

We don’t want to risk hurting them so we’re looking for someone who knows what they’re doing.

Yes, they poop a lot. They eat, sleep, poop, eat sleep and poop more.
As for trimming their nails, not hard. They have a center vein that you want to stay clear of. Some piggies will try to bite or nip you. Give them some fresh food while trimming the nails and they will be distracted.

Guinea Pigs should not be in a running wheel or the little mobile plastic ball. They are too long for those and could break their fragile backs.
