Why does it take an entire community to make a decision? Can't people make up their own minds without having to get opinions from strangers on forums anymore? There is no wrong answer, only differing opinions.

I say that as the father of three adult daughters that any "boyfriend" who did more than respectfully offer an opinion on a firearm purchase I was making (and paying for) for my precious daughter ... Well that boyfriend wouldn't be around too much longer ! I mean REALLY? This man brought that girl into the world and has spent years caring for her .. And you show up and are going to DEBATE HIM on how to protect his daughter or what to go buy for her????? REALLY?
You might not be around next week or next year... DADDY WILL STILL BE THERE FOR HIS DAUGHTER.
Sounds like an arrogant, teenage entitled mindset to actually have the gall to argue with a young woman's Father about what said FATHER should buy for his daughter. Good grief I'm amazed at young people's lack of respect for their elders these days.
Bottom line... You are just a boyfriend ... Not a husband. And even if you were her husband and her Father was buying her a gun the best thing for you to do is stay out it... And let her deal with her dad. After all, he loved her first...and he is probably right about the revolver anyway!

Better get along with father, don't stir the mud dark, best not to make daughter make choice between the two, allow her room to make up her mind, after all from what little info we have, she could still be living under Dad's roof. Would not try to bulldoze
the decision boyfriend.

Better to lose a battle than lose the TOTAL WAR. Besides DAD, may have a better handle on subject of daughters ability.

Besides don't mess with the future father-n-law, not a good move. ):>(
