I was covered up from daylight till 10:30. Killed this one walking back to the truck. Had a hen get to cackling of to my right and got him or his buddy fired up. Me and her went back and forth cackling and they stepped out in the logging road I was walking out on. Shot him 40 yards from my truck. His buddy made a clean get away

Had a weird hunt this morning. Only heard one bird gobble on roost a long way from me. Had 3 hens and a Jake come in and one of the hens came over and laid down beside me. She got up after about 15 minutes and fed around the food plot then walked back over within 5 feet of me and preened herself for another 10 minutes. I gave the Jake a pass

Had a hen do this to me years ago. She was a beautiful green color and had about a 2 inch beard. She got the gobbler comfy. Then he came in to his demise

A Jake stood right behind her for 10 minutes. He had no idea of the kind of danger he was in

Congratulations! I can’t hunt till next weekend due to wma’s not opening till then. I’m on vacation the whole following week to chase birds.
