Well he didn’t show up but there was a bird roosted about 75 yards behind the camera yesterday. He pitched down with some hens and went away from me. Only heard one bird this morning and he was a long way off

Congratulations! I can’t hunt till next weekend due to wma’s not opening till then. I’m on vacation the whole following week to chase birds.

He was proberly roosting near his hens and they went away if you called.hunting field turkeys I have had hens screw up many hunts.

How did it go?

Tomorrow will be my first day. I’ll be hunting the next 5 days straight. I’ve been watching my little one for the past 2 days. I’m ready to hear a gobble in the morning.

I didn’t make a call until well after daylight. He was gobbling at 6:30 Saturday morning. There’s usually hens around that food plot. For whatever reason they were quiet Sunday. Wish I could be there this morning

I got on one at daylight who was led away with hens. I called in one around 2:40 who I’m not convinced he was alone. The more I think about it I was probably talking to a hen that was farther away when the gobbler popped up almost in my lap. I had my box call instead of my shotgun in my hand unfortunately. He bolted.
I did find a bear skull and fresh bear tracks today though. I pulled the teeth.
I’ll be back after the birds tomorrow though.

I used Double reed diaphragms when sitting after the box call..I use the box call for fly down call and some purring. Congrats on your find!

Sorry I’m just now seeing this, but no I had no luck over the weekend. I’m thinking of slipping in the woods tomorrow before work though
