Looking for experienced advice about getting turtles eradicated from small pond. Anyone bought/used some of the traps I see online? Recommendations? Anyone got one they want to sell?

You get 2, 2x4's about 20" and nail them crosswise in an X. Make them long enough because they have to float. Attach an eye screw underneath on the center, and get some some fishing line and a weight heavy enough to make it to the bottom. Away from that eye screw put another one with another fishing line and a good size hook on it. Bait it with some meat or fish and let it drop down a few feet. When the turtle swallows the hook, he'll climb on top of the 2x4 cross or he'll drown. Then you paddle out to him, drop him in a bucket and learn how to make turtle soup. It is delicious.

Be forewarned: There are some strange laws in Georgia about turtles.

A friend wanted to catch snapping turtles in a live trap and harvest them to eat. He did a lot of research and found the best thing to do was catch them and put them in a bucket of clean water for a few days, changing the water every day to let them clean themselves out before butchering them.

The DNR told him they are considered an invasive species so he could kill all he wanted. But because they're an invasive species he couldn't trap them and transport them two miles to his house unless he got a license to eradicate invasive species. He would have to drive to one of their testing facilities, pass a test, and pay a yearly licensing fee.

Get a .22 LR and some bread. Toss bread wadded up on top of water….turtles will start eating bread, pop them in the head with 22.
22mag works better but be careful of the angle for rebound of projectile off water.
