Pulled these two from the gun show in Marietta this weekend..
1907 RSAF Enfield ShtLE that entered Australian service in 1909. New South Wales and Australian Rifles Regiment markings on the butt.
1939 Izhevsk 91/30. Big deal, you may say. But this one never went through the postwar rebuilds after the war, as evidenced by the lack of a rear sight base pin. Crude repair to heel of the butt, not one matching number.

Very cool. I miss the days when milsurps were plentiful at the shows. In my experience it's rare to see even a Mosin, much less a reasonably priced one, at shows now.

I must be getting ther AFTER you.

Yes, the "Good 'Ole Days" LOL!

As a kid, I can remember looking through mail-order magazines where you could buy almost anything for $5 plus shipping (which as also $5)! I also remember shopping with Mom at Rich's and seeing piles of pristine Enfield Jungle Carbines: Your Choice for $15.

Later, Of course, you could get an arsenal mil-surp 1911 from the government for $50 if you were an NRA Member.

As few as 30 Years ago you could get a pristine surplus SKS for $15 ... NOBODY would even consider buying a MOSIN back then, at any price!

    Well, then-was-then, and now-is-now
