I doubt it goes further than about 2-4 feet before it sinks. No way it is getting enough energy to travel through the water and hit the side of the pool.

You get right at 5-6' of travel. And the Maritine cups in the Glock do make a huge difference, although I have rarely seen the Glock or any striker fired pistol not work under water.
