Ultrasonic cleaners

So you put the baffles or whatever your cleaning in your cleaning agent inside of a mason jar and just keep water in the tub?

Yep. I have found that a hard container works better than a plastic one. Makes cleanup easy, and if you do use cleaning reagents, you don't need to use as much.

When I'm cleaning brass for reloading though, or doing a whole pistol frame, I'll do that in the tub - but for that, I tend to use milder reagents. I know you're not looking at cleaning brass, but if you ever do, you have to be careful about the concentration of acids in your mix - basically, if the pH is low enough, the process will strip zinc from the brass, making it look pink, and which can affect the mechanical properties of the brass.

I’ve been using ultrasonic cleaners for a while, mostly for brass and small gun parts, and what really helped was switching to a unit with stronger industrial transducers. I came across https://www.kaijo-shibuya.com/ultrasonic-parts-cleaners/ when I was comparing different models, and their stuff looks solid for serious use. If you’re dealing with smaller detailed parts or need consistent results, those could be worth a look.

I bought one from Harbor Freight a couple years ago, works fine. Small parts and stainless handguns get a good cleaning. They sell the powder for the solution too. The wife came up with a idea for her jewelry, so that's part of it ...lol

I just bought some "Breakthru suppressor cleaner" after reading a 6 page review on arfcom. Seems promising and the first two hours of soaking my .22 sealed can is promising. It has 2 ounces of lead and carbon buildup so I'll see how much weight it loses.

This stuff works great! Thanks for the post cuz it cleaned out my .22 axiom with ease. Soaked for 24 hours and then scrubbed it with a nylon brush. Shiny!
