I cannot support any limitations or regulations on the keeping and bearing of arms.
When the government can master the art of keeping banned substances out of the hands of criminals, we can talk about keeping guns out of their hands.
I love it!

/threadI have a great idea.
Negate all state laws restricting the ownership of firearms, repeal NFA, and obey the Constitution.
This administration will not stop pushing their Chicago politics and changes will be made. We need to get ready to get out elected people to fight for us. Say what you want about the Constitution and acts of Congress, but this country is failing to the left at an astonishing rate. The people want something for nothing and they're not smart enough to see it will cost them. This administration has ZERO respect for our Constitution, it is just a piece of paper to them and they don't mind stepping on it every chance they get.
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945,13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million 'educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated."
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.
The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, ask them "Who Do YOU want to round up and exterminate?"
With guns, we are citizens.
Without them, we are subjects.
First I want everyone to know I love my second amendment rights and do what I can to make sure they are protected. I see many people that believe that universal background checks are not a good idea or that they impede on our second amendment rights. I don't see it that way and I also do not believe that it will put us any closer to a national gun registry. I am 100% AGAINST a national gun registry! I don not want any government officials knowing what I do and do not have or why I should have it.
A few years back I owned a small used car lot in Hollister, FL a little town in the middle of nowhere. One part of the paperwork process included in selling a car was a small form for the Department of Homeland Security, this form was added to the sales packet after the 911 TERRORIST, some people don't like to say that word, attacks. This paper checked all future buyers names against a national database of know terrorist affiliations or police wanted list. It was required by law to run the name of anyone buying a car. All you got when you ran the name was either a HIT, gave you a phone number to call to report said person, or a "no name found". That's all. No personal information was shared and the database doesn't record your input either.
Now I know many of you on the ODT have made the continuous decision NOT to sell a firearm to someone. I know I have myself, either from a gut feeling or just the appearance and actions of some people. I like to consider myself a responsible gun owner and trader and do not want any guns that I sell or trade ending up it the wrong hands. Now we all know this is very difficult to control, a person that is not a criminal right now could end up one given the right circumstances, but wouldn't you like a free way to check out the people your selling or trading to? Wouldn't it be nice to enter a name and birthday and get a simple yes or no answer?
I sit back everyday and get upset listening to these damn fool politicians trying to tell us what the best way to curb gun violence is! These guys have no idea what to do. All they have done is cripple the law abiding gun owners and dealers in our country. Every time they enter in new legislation it is against us, the FFL dealers, and all RESPONSIBLE gun owners. We are not the problem. They are attacking this issue from the wrong side. Weapons bans and mag capacity limits and stiffer background check laws for FFL's are not going to stop the Columbines or Sandy Hooks. People will kill by whatever means they can. They will still be able to get their hands on the weapons to do this regardless of any newly enacted assault weapons ban. Find a solution that works! Give us the power to stop weapons from getting into the wrong hands. No criminal goes to a FFL dealer to buy a gun. They go to people like us, the private owners, to buy them.
I think we could make a difference in cutting down the number of guns out there in the wrong hands. I am in no way saying that we will stop all criminals from getting guns or that we can stop another mass killing, but I do not believe anyone or any laws can do that. What I am saying is give us the means to know who we sell to and we can help to stop them. What are the opinions of my fellow ODT members on this issue and what advice would you have for our elected, a*^, sorry...leaders. Please don't respond with NOTHING, or we don't need anything, because that is not going to help us at all.
