UPDATE ! Microtech expert & able to spot a fake vs a real one?

I agree with the majority of your points and if I had the time to research the knife more I would have. Any and all research you do will not be on Microtech's website however, because they do not mention anything about people faking their knives anywhere on their website. They should at the very least post a disclaimer that several of their knives are being faked and they recommend you buy retail only.
And coffee should be marked hot... I don't see Rolex or LV advertising that they're items are constaly copied. Due dilliagance falls on the shoulder of the purchaser.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. This is taken straight from Rolex's legal section of their website.

OFFICIAL ROLEX WEBSITE
All products displayed on the Website may be available at Official Rolex Retailers.
To ensure authenticity, genuine Rolex products are sold exclusively through Official Rolex Retailers. Rolex does not sell watches directly from the Website and cannot ensure the authenticity of watches sold online. Rolex invites you to visit your nearest Official Rolex Retailer.

I'm late on this one, but it took all of 1 second to spot that as a fake MT. The screws were not even close, the writing on the clip is a joke, among other things. Tough lesson to learn but nowadays if you buy high end gear, you better know your stuff and verify prior. I have a couple MTs but refuse to buy another after the way the company reacted with their rifle business when filing bankruptcy.

what the hell, let's bump this with a real 2007 CT. my pride and joy

Lol common guys, Microtech was caught getting there knives made in a factory overseas! The factory has the same tooling! They just produce extra ones and sell them! A good clone is EXACTLY the same materials as the real thing! I have even seen fakes that where done BETTER then the real thing! They use a ceramic indent ball and screw it with a torx from.the inside with a over extension protection built in! It was a much smoother and better design then the original! They have all the 3 pin screws and triangular screws now too! Some of there coating process is better then small 9ne man shops too! They have cncs and precision tooling. They take pride in how well they can copy a product, it's a different culture there!
