Updates on Changes

In an effort to bring ODT together on our new symbol of naughtiness Okuma Okuma has been begging me to put something together (NOT)
But if y'all think I'm associated somehow with the site my random meme may get to stay... :) and... this makes my comment two lines... :)
Y'all will need to guess which one is the "perm ban" and which one is the "temp ban"...

YES @SafeCracka gingers are equally represented...:)
Are the thermometers on the bottom panel rectal?
If so, are they for notification of the more anal members?
Disposable?
If reusable will there be proper sanitizing before next use?
A lot to be considered here before adopting new ban symbols.
Need more study/member input.

Now thats just funny as hell:laugh:

We have quite a few changes coming in the following days, hopefully all for the better. :D

As things go into place I will post about them in here. Please keep this thread on topic, so please no memes or un-needed one liners.

Thanks!

Changes In Effect:
  • Reminders & Warnings come from the staff member that issued it rather than being anonymous.
  • New "Listings Under Review" section in the classifieds. Listings that need edits will be moved here now instead of the private help forum. Listings in here are only visible to the thread starter.
  • New "Classifieds Only" moderators that only have power in the classifieds areas. Some of you may know our first "CO" moderator: @STONEWALL :D

Upcoming Changes:
  • Clarification of "Public Callouts" in the rules
  • Clarification of what comments are allowed in the classifieds areas
  • Users will be able to view their deleted posts
  • Removal of "Dunce Hat" badge, it will be replaced by a banner that just says "Temporarily Banned" so folks know it isn't permanent
  • Temporarily banned members will have access to the private help forum while banned.
Possible Changes:
  • Awesome stuff that I can't discuss but it's awesome and you'll like it.
show in the right hand column when a mod is on line.quit slinking around.
make warnings 30 60 90 6 months 1 year is ridiculous.

How about a time limit on how many ads can be bumped in a minute. I get tired of seeing 20 ads from the same member trying to tie up a page.
Go to 50 threads per page and they will only take up half a page.

Should the member bump one every 5 minutes? What if it's a slow day? They could still have one right after the other.

In the next day or two we will be changing the "Post an Ad" page so you have to actively choose to allow comments and questions from other users in your ad. The default setting will be "No." Users will also be notified in when creating their ad that they can delete any comments they do not want in their listing.

With that said, here is the first draft of new comment rules in classifieds:

Comments must be enabled when the ad is started or manually after the ad is created. If comments are enabled then the following rules apply:

Any negative comments, bickering, etc. will be removed from any ads unless the user is pointing out an error in the ad, a defect in the item, or a recall affecting the item.

Any comments on the price being too high or links to lower priced items will be removed.

Do not post the same comment or offer in multiple ads, this will be considered spam and will be deleted.

"GLWS" and smileys are not allowed by themselves, they must be accompanied by a comment or question that is allowed under the rules.

Listings that turn into off-topic discussions will have the comments disabled. (5 or more posts that have nothing to do with the item.)

Users have the ability to remove comments from their ads and can do so for any reason. If you feel like a user is deleting comments that point out a defect in an item or an error in the ad then you can report it and a moderator will take a look at it.

Users that break these rules multiple times can be banned temporarily and/or will have to have all their posts in the classifieds approved by a moderator before they get posted.
And these are the revised rules regarding banned members and is what what was previously referred to as being a "Public Callout"

Banned Members - We do not allow any comments meant to call attention to a member that is banned. If you have a question as to why someone was banned you can ask in the private help section. If we can share the reason for the ban or length of the ban we will.

Are all of these items just removed/deleted, or are they still warning/point worthy? Or do they just lead to you having to have your comments approved without any infractions being issued?

This doesn't seem like it's a change, other than comments not being a default.
