I plan on buying one of these guns in the near future and upgrading the fire control group. If I go the M&P route, I will use the Apex Tactical FSS & Trigger Kit. If I go XD(m), I will use the Powder River Precision Ultimate Match Trigger Kit. As for the pistol itself, I will likely go for a compact model in 9mm or 40S&W.

Does anyone have any experience with these particular enhancement kits? I used to have an M&P 9c, but it didn't have this newer, aluminum trigger with Glock-style safety. I've never owned any XD model.

Or should I just suck it up and buy the one that's made in 'Murica? That's kind of what I'm leaning towards at the moment. The fewer manual safeties, the better, I say.

If not glock, m&p
Glocks will always have a special place in my heart, but they're specifically utilitarian pistols to me. I will carry one for protection, I trust their reliability, and I can shoot accurately with them. But, I don't particularly enjoy shooting them.

XDm, w/Powder River.

The grip is better on the xdm, frame to slide fitment is better, accurate. IMO the the XDm just feels like a higher quality gun when I pick it up vs the M&P.

Agree! Don't have one right now but gotta get me a G26 in the future... it's on my list.

Easy answer is Xdm, no upgrade needed.

jwhited,

Seriously check out the XDM 5.25 competition model. 9mm 3 each 19 round factory magazines, really good target sights, smooth trigger and match grade barrel. It offers a lot of value and features that are typically added to many guns.

I'd like to shoot both the Smith and Springer (both 9/40) set up similar to form an educated opinion though.
