UPGRADED M&P vs. UPGRADED XD(m)?

Just a personal preference cause I love my XDm .40's, but I'd go with it. I love the way it feels, shoots, and the accuracy of it completely stock. I haven't done any upgrades, except night sights, because I really don't think they need it. Never had a jam or failure and I trust it with my life everyday.

I have never shot the M&P but I've got a buddy who has it and loves it too. But when he shot my XDm he was very surprised at how accurate it was. Sorry I have no input for the upgrades however.

The grip is better on the xdm, frame to slide fitment is better, accurate. IMO the the XDm just feels like a higher quality gun when I pick it up vs the M&P.

This gets my vote.

No input on the upgrades you mention, But I had an XD and now shoot an M&P and a XDm. I like the M&P a lot, much better than the original XD and some better than my Ruger SR9. I like the Ruger and it is one of my "car guns", but the M&P is a little smoother with a slightly better trigger and has the changeable backstraps which makes a difference in the way it feels. All that said, the XDm 5.25 is superior to all of the others. Of course it does cost more originally, but you may not need to do an upgrade either.

Since we're talking about upgraded M&P's here, what is the purpose of the springs in the DCAEK. It comes with an increased rate sear spring and trigger return spring. Also comes with the sear and usb, but alot of people just buy the sear and usb. Wondering if those springs are worth the extra $15 or so.

The springs work in conjunction with the sear & USB to hit their advertised pull weight. You can swap them around to get the pull weight you prefer, but I think the stock trigger spring will yield a lighter pull. They recommend their springs for safe carry. The DCAEK is called the " Duty / Carry" kit because they recommend a slightly heavier pull weight for safety reasons.

ETA : I wish JW lived closer to me so he could try mine out. I run the DCAEK in my 9C and the FSS in my 9FS. I just ordered a 45 midsize that I plan to set up with the FSS.

I have owned both a M&P 40 and Several XDs and now have a XDm 5.25 and LOVE it, the only upgrade needed is my shooting ability, I sold the M&P 40 only because it was a 40 and I prefer a 9mm. Both are great guns. I have been using the XDm in # gun and am very happy with it out of about 1300-1500 rounds never a fail to do anything. Carrying 19 on board is also a nice feature and comes with a fiber optic front sight.

I have three XDm's all with the Powder River Precision UMT trigger kit, titanium stiker safety kit, titanium striker indicator kit and +100 extended mag release. My XDm9 5.25 and XDm45 5.25 are set at a 3# trigger pull. My XDm9 3.8 is set at a 3.5# trigger pull. The length of pull is less than .5" and the reset is about 1/8" with no trigger break and no overtravel. I can adjust the trigger pull weight by swaping PRP parts and springs and factory parts and springs to get the pull weight where I want it. You can get a trigger pull between 2.5# and 4.5# by swapping parts.

I have an M&P 45 that will get the Apex FSS kit but have little faith that it will be as nice as the XDm with PRP kit based on the fact that I can't imagine a trigger can get any better than the PRP.

If your anywhere near West Ga. you are more than welcome to shoot my XDm's. I have a friend that calls them "suicide triggers" and if you ever shoot one you'll see why. But don't let that scare you because as I said earlier you can set these triggers up to your liking.
