Does any one do a lot of upland bird hunting? If so what kind of bird vest do you recommend. I’m headed to South Dakota in December and probably South Georgia in January. I’m ok with buy once cry once. But I would like to find something that will work on long day quail hunts as well as plantation put out birds

I appreciate your time in advance

If your getting mixed in with guys you never hunted with I would be hi viz…
With orange all over the top along with an orange hat…

I have a A Filson Tin Cloth one that is less bulky and can swing well without getting bound up…

I Use it for pheasant and grouse… you can walk all day in it.

I have one of the Beretta ones, got it back in 1988 or so. Hunted quail, doves, ducks, pheasant, rabbits..... still looking and working well.

I’ve enjoyed my Orvis. It comes in orange, but I got the regular. One of the places I go discourages orange over traditional white. I wear a orange shirt if needed elsewhere.

Filson is top of the line and priced around $225

The Beretta Retriever Field Vest is an excellent value at around $100.

Gamehide has a variety of budget friendly upland vests for $40 to $50 on Amazon.
If you hunt a couple of times a year, these are a good value.

Have considered the Beretta Covey strap vest for warmer days, but not sure of the comfort, durability, or usability compared to a standard upland vest.

Are they comfortable to wear all day and do they last?

Why do they discourage an orange vest??Unless they like Ga made legal wear a hot pink vest guess that decision was made in name of Diversity
