used, abused, triji ACOG's on ebay...where/how do folks get them?

Yep.
Just a heads up since we're on the topic of stolen government property, there are a ton of Knights Armament 2-600m rear sights for sale on eBay and similar sites. Many of them are marked "USMC" and have a hex head locking bolt. These USMC sights are stolen, every one of them. They have never been sold as surplus and are still being issued. NCIS is actively investigating it because the Corps is losing something like 10-20% of them to thieves. Buyer beware.

As a general rule, if an item worth $1000 can be had for a couple hundred bucks or an item worth $150 can be had for $50, it's probably stolen. Just sayin...

Two years ago I bought a used ACOG from ebay. When I got it, it was quite obvious from its condition that it had been in heavy use. I called the guy and his story was that he bought a couple from a guy that ran a range... Yeah ok

I called Trijicon and had them run it and it was indeed stolen from the Army. I had them email the DoD ANC copy me. I notified the lying idiot and sent it back for a refund. He was quite scared! I gave them the details and ya know what? I never got a reply from the Govt folks. NEVER....

I still have the original email to prove it. Bottom line for me was that I won't buy something stolen that my son needs in Afghanistan

^This is the truth. My brother is a salesman for a company in VA beach that sells equipment to the military (trijicon is one of their brands) - and when I was complaining about how long my order was taking, he humbled me by telling me a lot of troops order optics and don't get them in time to use them during their tour.
