Vacation items for preppers

In case you lose cell service and need an alternate route home.

Edit to add : I've been in traffic jams that had so many people using the local cell tower that I had trouble connecting.
Trying to get from Baltimore MD up I 83 into PA on September 11, 2001 I couldn't get a call through the entire 6 hours it took to drive 90 miles.


This is what I'm looking for. I didn't think of this but I'm definitely going to buy some maps for the truck. Maybe some sort of small emergency radio. Definitely water and sunscreen. I've got a 4 year old so I'm not gonna be out there playing Rambo but i want to get us home safe during a panic.

I think knowledge will probably be the most useful thing for me. I probably need to read some books on basic prepping
