I still have yet to go shoot that range. I honestly want to take my .22lr I shoot for NRL22 matches and see if I can stretch it out to 300. I'm easily plinking 200 yard steel with it on the other range. How many folks attend this match usually? I may plan a range day up there and stop by to see it

with the inflation, covid, hard to get ammo/reloading supplies, and high gas prices we have between 8 to 12 shooters.

If I ever get a good scope and mount for my AR and a cheek piece to it so I can get "cheek weld" on the stock, I'm going to try this.
I like shooting from the unsupported standing position, and I'm better at it than most.

Will a 55-gr lead-core bullet,
fired from a 20" barreled AR-15,
hit with enough energy to knock 'em down?

Or would I have to use 75 or 77 grain open tip match bullets?

It didn't with my 20". Best I could do was rotate them a little. Never tried anything other than 55 gr.

A quick peek at the NRA rules indicate a 6mm or larger rifle is required.
