Visitor to the farm

I invited the fellow whom I bought my property from to visit today. Actually bought it from he and his sister about five years ago. Their Mother and Father bought it in the mid 1940s.
we rode around the place and he gave me the history as he knows it of rock walls, rock piles , fields etc.
once upon a time it was all cotton, pimento peppers etc.

They grew up there , no PlayStation, no cell phones just playing out side and working in the summers on the place. He showed me where he learned to plow with a mule.

A good afternoon which I much appreciated.

Moments like those are the meaning of life. No agendas, just listening intently to how life was lived and digesting the history of where you live. Some will never have that luxury, some don't care to. They are missing out.
