Walmart selling Handguns?

Every time I buy ammo at walmart it looks like it was sitting in a steam room before getting stocked on shelves, I find better prices at gunstores really on both ammo and definitely guns.

no your not the only one.maybe just two of us now.but i will continue to support smaller dealers(local)for one customer service.and someone who knows what their selling.(knows the difference between a glock and kimber).9mm and 300mag.etc

Exactly..even if the ammo is a couple more bucks or the gun is a little more expensive, I'd rather give my money to a local business owner than a big corporation like Walmart that's just going to send the money I give them overseas to pay for their outsourced labor:hand:don't get me wrong, some things I will buy from WM like groceries and stuff like that and I'll buy a box or two of ammo (like if I'm running low and need some by this weekend) but past that I'd rather support a local shop..Walmart is way too powerful IMO..they build one and it's not too long before local small business are having to shut the doors because they can't compete. Depressing really :/

I'll def. support my local gun shop when possible. But I will not willingly pay more for something that is a commodity like a Rem 870 or Marlin 30-30 or get jacked on a box of ammo, (I have seen some ridiculous 870 prices and ammo pricing in several gun shops). I frequent Ga. Firing line in Marietta, Cherokee Gun and Pawn and Ad. Outdoors and I don't see that changing. I like the price and selection at these 3 stores and it's about a tie between Cherokee gun and Ga. Firing line as to who has the better pricing and friendlier staff.

maybe they would change their crappy policy on having a manager walk you out the front door like a criminal after you bought a gun

i'd like to see it to help out with price competition, but they would probably sell derivitive models of popular guns that were made to a lower standard just like most other things at walmart
id figure they would just hold them by a certain register and you had to check out at that register, that way if you wanted to shop more after buying a gun you just get it on your way out.

what do they escort you to your vehicle?

Man I had that happen at Best buy when I bought a $130.00 wireless router!
It's seems pretty common place. Dicks did it when we bought my sons first shotty, Adv. Outdoors does it also and Wal-mart did it too.

ya when adventure outdoors walked me to the register for ammo, i was like WTF this is why your customer service is ass

dicks walked the gun down to the register, but that was about it when i bought my 22 from them. i can understand a firearm i guess, but the ammo thing is retarded. at dicks they just hand it to me and i check it out like any other item
